Title: Hospital Free Days and Frailty in Administrative Databases

Shifting standards of care towards patient-centered outcomes is an important paradigm of modern medicine. Hospital Free Days (HFDs) is a patient-centered, pragmatic outcome that incorporates mortality, hospital length of stay, and readmissions. We calculated HFDs from an administrative database to help diversify research endeavors. Quantifying patient Frailty is another important aspect of patient care, especially as Frailty portends worse postoperative outcomes. We therefore are working to merge these key concepts in this presentation where we will be deriving and validating Risk Analysis Index Frailty Scoring based on ICD-10 codes and provide updates on HFDs calculations.
