10:00am to 11:30am

Event Description

Dr. Katrina Morgan, MD MMPH

Title: Microfluidics After Trauma in CHildren (MATCH) Study Introduction and Preliminary Data

Trauma induced coagulopathy is common in severely injured children and associated with poor outcomes, however its mechanisms remain poorly understood. Platelets are a key component of hemostasis after injury and are affected by TIC, though current assays are ill-equipped to evaluate platelet function in injured patients. This talk will discuss the process of using microfluidics to study platelet function and preliminary data on microfluidic analysis of platelet response in injured children.
