Transforming the conduct of clinical research

Deepika Mohan, MD, MPH

  • Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine & Surgery

Dr. Deepika Mohan is an Assistant Professor Surgery and Critical Care Medicine. Her overarching goal is to improve the quality of care provided to patients with critical illness by understanding decisions that occur under conditions of time-pressure and uncertainty, such as trauma and the ICU. Her research interests include determinants of physician decision making. Specifically, she is interested in the influence of intuitive judgments (heuristics) on decision making and the implications for quality improvement efforts. She was recently awarded a DP2 grant from the NIH’s Office of the Director to develop a novel serious game intervention to recalibrate physician heuristics in trauma triage.
